We've been eagerly awaiting details about the 2014 Chevy Silverado since its mid-December debut. Today we got 'em, and they're no April Fools' Day joke.
GM claims some impressive figures with its volume option, a 5.3-liter V-8: a whopping 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, with a claimed fuel economy of 16 city, 23 mpg highway with 2WD (22 highway with 4WD). That would be tops for new full-size trucks. Towing capacity is improved as well, clocking in at a maximum of 11,500 lbs. with a properly equipped 2WD double-cab model. Payload is just a tick above a ton, at 2012 lbs.
Pricing for regular cab models starts at $24,585, double cabs at $28,610, and crew cabs at $32,710. Those prices include $995 shipping and handling. We look forward to putting this truck through the testing gamut later this year.
